Back Yard Renovation
It’s starting to warm up so I thought it would be fun to share some of the backyard renovation we did this last year! We spend a ton of time outside throughout the year so I really wanted to open up this space and make it an extension of our living area!

First up:
We painted the entire house white (Sherwin Williams pure white).
Next:
We tore out the flower beds on both sides of the patio and laid cement to open up the space. It just felt so crammed to me and it was a must if we wanted any walking space once the pool gate went up + they needed to be removed to add on the additional covered patios.
So then: We added two covered patios (w/rain gutters, canned lights & fans) to maximize the months we can use the space. Bakersfield gets freaking hot so we needed all the shade we could get! It’s also super convenient for rainy days too so the kids can still play outside!

Other add ons:
Pool fence - this was actually the very first thing we did when we moved in.
String lights - they make everything prettier + it adds light for when we’re partying late at night!
TV - lots of football game hangs go on out here
Furniture & decor - I was going for comfy + functional. I wanted all the seating possible so we went with a 10 seater dining table + a huge sectional. We also added 4 chairs around the fire pit and then 2 lounge chairs, daybed, and a round lounger out by the pool. I stuck with lots of white + neutral colors!
