July at the Four Seasons Peninsula Papagayo!!

Okay… WOW. If you ever needed a sign to book that tropical vacay with your man, this is IT!!! Costa Rica was seriously a DREAM, and I still can’t believe we got to stay at the Four Seasons Peninsula Papagayo Costa Rica!! It was SO beautiful!! We had the absolute BEST time! It was warm and tropical, you would never know that July is THEIR “winter”!!

The Four Seasons Experience

Hands down, one of the prettiest resorts in Costa Rica. The Four Seasons Peninsula Papagayo feels like its own little world!! The private beaches in Costa Rica, infinity pools, jungle views, and service that makes you feel like royalty.

Our room had the most gorgeous balcony views of the ocean, and waking up to the sound of monkeys outside was honestly the most magical wake-up call.

What We Did

• Beach time – endless! The water was so warm and calm.

• Adventures – One of the days, we hopped on jet skis right from the resort. There was a vendor set up on the beach! We did a two-hour tour that took us to Monkey Beach, through the mangroves, and even out to some insanely cool caves. Such a fun way to explore the coastline!! Mangroves are these super unique coastal forests where the trees grow right in the salty water, with their roots stretching out above the surface like little stilts. In Costa Rica, they’re everywhere along the shoreline, and they create this really cool maze of tunnels and waterways you can explore!!

  On our second adventure day, we went all out and chartered a yacht through the resort. It took us out on the ocean, and we even got to snorkel! The water was crystal clear, the fish were everywhere, and it honestly felt like we were in our own little tropical movie. Such a fun experience and definitely one of the highlights of the trip!!

• Spa day – The Four Seasons Costa Rica spa was everything. A couple’s massage overlooking the ocean, and it was so nice!! Definitely better than our hole-in-the-wall massage places here in Bakersfield!

• Wildlife spotting – Monkeys SO MANY MONKEYS, iguanas, lizards, colorful birds. It felt like we were inside a Nat Geo special the whole trip!! I videoed and took pictures of all of the wildlife because the kids wanted to see it ALL!!

• We also went to the gym at the resort every day and it was so nice!!

The Food

We pretty much stuck to the resort for all our meals—trying out all the restaurants at the Four Seasons, plus the one by the golf course. Honestly, every single thing we ordered was so good!! From fresh fruit and seafood to cocktails, we didn’t have a single bad bite the whole trip. EVERYTHING was so good and we all know i’m a picky girlie!!

The Vibe

Honestly, the whole trip felt like a little reset button. Just us two, no distractions, soaking up sunshine (and rain), and making memories we’ll be talking about forever. There’s something about Costa Rica vacations for couples that just slows you down in the BEST way. Highly recommend taking a trip with just your significant other at least once a year!!

Would I Go Back?

In a heartbeat!!! Next time, I want to bring the kids because I know they’d lose their minds over the monkeys, beaches, and warm water. But for this trip, it was the perfect Costa Rica couples getaway with Bryce.

So if you’ve been thinking about booking Costa Rica (and especially if the Four Seasons Peninsula Papagayo Costa Rica is on your radar)… DO IT!!! You’ll come back tan, relaxed, and maybe a little spoiled!!
